Football program information
Patriot Youth Sports offers full contact tackle football for youth ages 5-14 in the Littleton and surrounding areas. The Patriots compete against other clubs in the Arapahoe Youth League (AYL). The AYL offers 3 levels of competition - NFC, AFC, CFC with the NFC being the most competitive.
The league plays an 8 game regular season. Practices begin around the first week of August and games start play around the first week of September and finish with the playoffs in mid November. Most games are scheduled on Saturdays. Make-up games and some regular season games may be played on sundays and during the week.
Teams will be assigned by Patriot Youth Sports and players will be placed on teams according to age and skill level. Higher level divisions are subject to tryouts. Full teams will be accepted.
Registration typically opens in May and runs through July. Registration does not guarantee participation as teams are filled on a first come first serve basis. Coach requests are not guaranteed. Participant will be refunded registration fee if there are not enough players to field a team.

Divisions
NFC
The NFC division is the most competitive division where coaches and players have several years of tackle football experience. Teams in this division have been together for several years. The NFC division is for players ages 8 - 14.
AFC
The AFC is the division for players and coaches with some tackle football experience. This division is also a very competitive division with very competitive playes. The AFC is a good place for a team that has a mix of intermediate and experienced players. The AFC division is for players ages 6 - 14.
CFC
The CFC is the lowest of the three divisions where coaches and players have little or no experience in tackle football. Although it is the lowest of the three divisions, the CFC does not lack the competitive spirit of the athelete, coach and parent. The CFC division is for players ages 6 - 14.
Weigh Restrictions
The AYL is a weigh restricted league in which players are divided in three weigh classifications at each age. The three weigh classifications are Backfield, Single-Patch and Double-Patch. See the table below. Backfield players may play any position on the team at any time of the game. Single Patch players start every play from the offensive or defensive line of scrimmage and can play at any time of the game. Double Patch players have the same restrictions as a Single Patch player and cannot participate in the game during a kickoff.
